The Giant XTC frame is awesome. I have the MPH brakes on mine and I think they're OK, by no means the best brakes but there are other parts I'd replace first. If you're looking to upgrade any time in the future I recommend upgading the Giant handlebars and seat post as they weigh a bomb! Check out mine. A set of good air forks makes a huge difference to the ride and depending on which ones you go for you can shed a huge amount of weight as well!
Hi, haven't logged in for ages. How's the bike going? Manitou R7 works well and is light. Can get them imported on ebay for a bargin. I got mine for about £130 + £40 postage + fitting at shop £20. R7 Super 100mm for £190. Brand new, with serial number. Otherwise if you can afford it get a FOX fork. Stick to 100mm travel and you can't go too far wrong.
Hi Karmic - what forks would suit the frame etc? I'm interested in doing a bit of everything to be honest.
Its got DMR V8 pedals on now, no foot slippage now! I'm looking to go to Cwmcarn in March, my first serious trail and the bike is still pretty standard so i hope it can handle it, the forks more than anything else!
Howdy - the reflectors are off!! All of them! I've put a different saddle (Charge Spoon) on as well over the weekend - signed up late last night and didnt have a new pic.
