I used to really like GT bikes but they're not what they used to be, since they changed the manufacturing, the whole ethos has changed. The full-sussers are nothing like the old style i-drive bikes. I don't like the bottom bracket mounted to the rear triangle, it just looks too weird. I don't get why you've got a fatter tyre at the front either.
It's not all negative though..........it's still a good mountain bike, especially for a first one and you'll get a lot of enjoyment from it. I like the Hope bits too!
Thanks for the honesty, the reasoning behind fatter front tyre is more grip on front and a bit looser on the rear.......it's only a 12-18 month bike and then maybe a cube ams 150 is on the cards

My first ride, all stock atm except Sunline V1 65mm stem, Sunline V1 745 bars, Peaty grips and Hope end caps for bling, Hope skewers, new tyres - Hans Dampf 2.35"(front) & Nobby Nic 2.10"(rear)....please be honest/kind :P
