The business! Nice and burly for the downs and drops (6.5inc rear travel + long wheelbase makes it very stable), but also a great climber as v. light (carbon frame). With pro-pedal, maverick speedball seat post (yes it has huuuge amount of play in it) and rockshox lyrics coil (air 2 steps failed 3 times so have finally given up), I'm using this for both XC and DH, I just use 2 different wheelsets). Still in love.

Great all do it all ride, i toyed with getting one of these but went for the new Meta 5.5 instead. Any issues with the rear shock yet?

what did you prefer on the Ransom to the Meta then. I know a couple of people with Ransoms and they creaking worried me.

If you're asking re: rear shock, one flick of the switch closes one air chamber, another flick closes another. That's as techy as I can get!! Yeah, it really goes when the rider isn't scared.. Making me do things I'd never thought myself capable of. Speedball great, feel very smug when everyone is stopping to adjust seat and I just ride past, dropping or lifting to my hearts' content :-) Think Crank Bros do their version too, called the Joplin, have you tried them for size?
