Stealthy carbon XC racer! Light (less than 22lbs) but not too delicate. Mavic XC717 Rims/Hope Pro Hubs, Rock Shox Reba Race, S-Works carbon bar, Titec foam grips, Sella Italia Saddle. The frame was a bargain ex-demo (not used in anger) from my LBS, thanks guys! Chain set & gears Shimano XT, Formula Oro Discs & Wellgo W01's. Seat post, stem and QR skewers are KCNC scandium/titanium, light as carbon but half the price! Conti' Speed Kings are converted to Stan's no-tubes system for extra reliability, no punctures and lower pressures, works too! Oh and a sprinkling of titanium and aluminium bolts in the right places.

awsome but im not so sure on the bars rate mine plz
ginjafro replied... on 26 January 2009
Thanks for the rating. Flat bars aren't for everyone but risers wouldn't seem right for the purpose of this bike.

Wish i could afford something like this, its cool
ginjafro replied... on 24 January 2009
Thanks. Many of the parts I have bought over many months or culled from my previous ride. Also, hard work and overtime have paid for a decent bike rather than a decent car.

looks ace
just need carbon seatpost and clamp to finish her off
ashley_photog replied... on 29 January 2009
Most carbon seat post's have an aluminum insert so that if it does fail, it won't do it catastrophicley, and will bend.
ginjafro replied... on 23 January 2009
I suppose it would but I prefer an ali' post to bend rather than a carbon post to snap! Mind you I've got a carbon bar and thats been rock solid and not scared me yet.

really nice ride, but why is it you XC racers use such long stems?
ashley_photog replied... on 23 January 2009
Long stems give you a better position for climbing, and also help keep your weight better distributed when climbing, giving you better traction.
ginjafro replied... on 19 January 2009
Ta. We XC racers use long stems to stretch us out in a racier position and to keep some weight on the front shock to help it work better. You'll notice my Cove Hustler has a shorter stem for differnet reasons that you probably already know.

Awesome, Loves these. you should check out my Cadex 2, the grandad of this frame
ashley_photog replied... on 23 January 2009
yep was the best hardtail I've ever had, felt almost 'wooden' in the way it rode.
ginjafro replied... on 19 January 2009
Thanx, your right about the Cadex, pity some scumbag nicked it!
