Sexy bike dude!
But can see why it didn't stick!

ashley_photog replied... on 19 August 2009

mainly down to too many pivot's, bushing would wear and then the rear end would end up a bit wobbly

kira replied... on 18 February 2009

yeah its a great ride mate

ashley_photog replied... on 15 February 2009

And even if you don't like it, it worked well enough for Steve Peat to like it and race on it in 96 and 97.

ashley_photog replied... on 14 February 2009

not sure what there isn't to like about it, it works, simple. infact it worked well enough for GT to Copy the design from Specialized, and it's essentially the same design that they using now on alot of their bikes. just with the shock in a different position.

its ok but looks kinda fragial, and from the photo spec isnt great

ashley_photog replied... on 14 February 2009

How old are you? the down tube is so oversive I couldn't get it into the roof rack holder. This bike would still work better than most new rear suspension bikes. and as far as the spec is concerned, you don't know what your talking about, this bike is from 1998!

the front triangle looks a bit like my 05 giants. check it out.

my mate used to have one of these bikes. was silver, not sure of the exact model. i still have the rockshox rear shock some where i think. the frame snapped on my mates (while i was riding it). it snapped clean halway up on the tube coming from rear axle towards the rear shock.

ashley_photog replied... on 31 January 2009

You absolutly right, the front triangles on some of the Giant's were identical, don't know how this came about. Giant must have bought the right's to the design, when GT went Bankrupt perhaps.

outstanding bike, we use to have one in the shop as a demo, and i rode it loads when i was a poor student, would of owned one if i could have afforded it, everything you could ask for in a UK all rounder, colour great, bombers, V's - definately 10

ashley_photog replied... on 21 January 2009

Cheers, I don't think I could find a bike that was as good an alrounder as that bike was......with the exception of my San Andreas.

There wern't many bikes that were as good as this back in 98, a fantastic ride, especially for only £1400.

Bought this bike from the insurance money, after my Cadex was stolen. for the price it was a bargain at the time, 5" rear travel, 4" travel Bomber Fork, XT/LX/STX mix. It only weighed around 27/28lds and rode like a dream. Eventualy stripped it down for the partsand sold it as I wanted to fit disc brakes. It garnered a lot of interest when it was for sale. I do miss it though.
