Rating your own bikes, crazy aint it...

Too date the best bike i have ridden, and have tried loads, works really well for this countries offering for off road (unless you have a DH trail near). Needs some better wheels and a Drive chain and Mech upgrade, but bits came from my budget LTS DH build, so will happen over time. Sometimes i wish it was lighter (half way through marin trail for example), but the real arguement is i need to loose weight and get fitter. Would recommend the '07 stumpjumper if i was really honest

nice frame, but lackin in decent parts plus those z1's r unreliable.

martin_fry replied... on 28 January 2009

Agreed the bits came from the budget LTS frame i had, so some work does need doing to the spec sheet, just dont have the available folding at the moment, being a new dad and all that

Never really like the spesh range, though I do like the later hydroformed frames with the swept down tube. Guess you broke down the reto LTS to build this up !

martin_fry replied... on 28 January 2009

Yeah it was a simple frame swap when the other pi$$ me of for breaking to often, what drew me to the specialized was the promise of active pedal lock out on the rear 5", have been impressed with the brain so far, shame the forks dont have the same option, forgot to drop the ETA back on the forks on sunday, and mashed the front tube on a rocky burn when the forks bottomed out on a very short decent

Very nice. Is that the titanium comoured 1 they did?

martin_fry replied... on 22 January 2009

not sure what the colour was called, its a 2nd hand frame, but its really light silver, there was a rusty coloured one whihc i would have personally prefered, but didnt find one at the time of looking.

martin_fry replied... on 22 January 2009

if i am honest i have to agree, i prefered the rusty colour frame, but not sure it was available in this spec, and just had to take what i could get as i didnt buy it new

Nice bike, with a fairly simple suspension design. like the fact they've added a mud guard to protect the shock

Very nice. Love the look of the older frames! And solid!!

martin_fry replied... on 21 January 2009

to be fair, i can see the point it was the last year of that design for the Enduro, since then the stumpjumper has kinda filled this market, and the enduro is a bigger hit bike, which is fine if your in the rockies and have lifts, but its the best that i can reasonable pedal any distance.

Trust me, that's not old! lol
