on the whole not a bad example of hard tail, componets where above average, but more could have been spent, no real complaints but for the shimano xt brakes, at least they where G1 with the more expemsive braided hoses, but self adjusting element just failed to work, may have been fixed in later versions, but hope for me everyday of the week. Right First Time, not we have learned from our lessons.
Personally would have liked a LightSpeed or the Pace square section frame if i had the folding to choose ultimate hard tails
everything but the wheels and brakes where new, to be fair. The wheels and brakes came from my brother so would have been a bit battered as he rides hard, but never got on with the XT brakes, self adjusting my ar$e, give me a set of hope sports anyday, let them off by spinning the top reservior dial as you climb and tweak them back before the decent.
i really tried to get back to the hard tail, to keep up with my keen XC mates, but just couldnt find the fun without a rear shock, my mate bought it and now uses it to commute to work in london, what a waste, i even gave him a old spare road bike so the old Kona didnt have to suffer the shame of it all, but he couldnt handle the riding position for need of visability and wits about him to stay alive in london traffic, he been knocked off the kona three times all ready, its only been 12months
