Nice frames the old 24/7s but realy could do with chunky gussets on a jump bike, stops the frame bending and cracking.
fatboy30 replied... on 5 February 2008
Yes but, no but, its not often your wrong but your right again, init?
CitizenLee replied... on 31 January 2008
I disagree mate, these days you dont need mad gussets on a DJ frame. Just look at the new breed of DJ frames coming out from companies like Blk Mrkt, Static, 24seven, DMR, NS bikes (to name but a few) and you'll see for yourself. They're heavily inspired by BMX with tech like internal headsets, Spanish BBs, micro dropouts and simple, clean frame design. On a lot of them the tubes are constructed in such a way that they're thicker at the ends, which eliminates the need for any extra reinforement yet still produces a light and strong frame. If gussets are used then it's usually a simple piece of metal plate to support the top of the top tube, bottom of the down tube, or both. This is definately becoming less common on dirt jump specific frames though. BMX technology has really come along fast in the last few years and this in turn is transferring into dirt jump frame tech. Afterall, a DJ bike is essentially just a BMX with 24 or 26 inch wheels.

i wouldn't listen to them on your color as it looks different from the norm and thats a good thing. i actually like the color for that reason. the bike looks nice and clkea no naff bits at all. it looks sweet min.
btw way where did you hear that argyles break to easily. no no no don't tell me you read it on an internet forum. yeah like they are full of people who know what they are talking about. it went something like this "my friend of a friend who heard from a friend of a friend who's friend of a friend heard from a friend of a friend who heard from a friend of a friend,,,etc etc etc. saw someone break them.. sorry but 99% of fourmites are actually thick as marmite and speak a load of rubbish. fact ;-) then why am i here then i hear you say,,,well i have to laugh at somehting.
either way you got a sweet ride lee
CitizenLee replied... on 23 January 2008
Cheers Russ ;) Dont worry man, I'm old enough and wise enough to take what I read on the net with a pinch of salt. I've also ran, modded and used enough forums to know the amount of idiots that frequent them. The Argyle info came from a mate dahn saff (an actual human) I used to roll with as a kid. He trashed his after a few weeks riding, despite being quite a smooth rider. I trust his judgement. Besides, no where could get stock of Argyles when I was after forks so I let my impatience get the better of me and bought the DJ2s... which I have no regrets about. That's enough typing for now... I'm off to get high. Adios.

I can't really rate it any hight i am afraid. It is a nice bike all the same, just i personally hate 24seven as a company, but that is mainly due to how pish their customer service is and warranty side of things.
However i have ridden a fair few 24seven frames in my time and they do what they are meant to, so nice ride man!
I just wish 24seven would get their finger oot and become as good a company as their 24" frames.
CitizenLee replied... on 30 January 2008
Have you been reading my mind again Jaybroni!
Jayfaedoom replied... on 11 December 2007
ya should get a spank rim on the back man, get one of them banging Hope Pro 2 single speed hubs they are schweet like. Then it will be even better!
CitizenLee replied... on 10 December 2007
So serious man! All this Rate My Ride nonsense is just banter :D
Jayfaedoom replied... on 10 December 2007
think you will find i did rate your bike.
CitizenLee replied... on 6 December 2007
Haha, Jay ye bam! It's "Rate My Ride", not "Rate The Manufacturer's Warranty & After Sales Service"! Besides, I bought the frame 2nd hand so have no warranty anyway... I break - I pay! Weather their company ethos is good or not they make shit hot, dependable stuff and that's what I care about. Anyway, cheers for the comment amigo ;)

CitizenLee replied... on 6 December 2007
I bought it 2nd hand from eBay but the only thing that's left from when I bought it is the frame, chainring, seatclamp, headset and rear wheel. The rest I have upgraded. Probably spent about £900 all in, but I've sold some of the original stuff to claim some of that back.
