Sweet goose!.. love the mods, i went mad with white on mine lol!... can confirm they take a beating, mines been thrashed down fort bill (the 55's didnt like it tho!) Rate my Khyber too please!
cheers mate, just found a place nearby that'll powdercoat for 35 quid, so the back end will prolly end up white at some point, leaving the front quarter that bluey/green colour. proper custom job woop!
true, but this frame wont fit a coil, the split in the seat tube isnt big enough to accomodate a spring. it does suck, but its been upgraded to a dhx5 air now, and have to say the ability to 'pump up/let down' the air shcok is actually a pretty sick advantage - I can set this up almost like a hardatil for jumping/epics or slack as a bag o balls for the rough stuff.
not sure bout the roco air tho, a coil would look better hehe, had a bad experience with air shocks, too much to go wrong and spensive to repair or replace.
no i bought it whole fella, but I'm slowly speccing it upto how i want it. the frame is great, I can properly rip this for longer all day trails as well as it taking a fair bit of hucking.
nice! realy wanna have a go on a mongoose, see how they ride.they seem like a HELL of a lot of bike for the money, an the floating BB linkedge look interestng!
gotta get rid of that spoke gaurd on the back wheel tho!! lol
oh yeah its fine for downhill/fr. like I said above, I use it for hammering wharncliffe, stainburn and storthes hall, and its taken some abuse at cwmcarn and hamsterley downhill. At the end of the day its a 6&6 so its not guna handle like a full on downhill rig, but if you like rough trails and some airtime then its awesome.the spec isnt super blingy, but what do you expect for less than a grand? upgrades the spec and your away. Mongoose launched it at the mega-avalanche in 08, so it can take some abuse too.
cheers bro! this is a small which is 16.5 inch frame. I'm 5'9" and it's pretty much bang on for me. It rides really well, is really chuckable and can take the ruff stuff very nicely. The forks are basic but suck up the big stuff nicely. the back end when set up properly ( I run 110 psi at 12 stone)is amazing,so much traction. With a few cheeky upgrades I've turned it into a real flyer,( bigger tyres, lower bars, better pedals etc) a few more select cuts ( fox 36 forks, new BB and bash/chainguide) I'm all set.
I ride wharncliff and stainburn as my locals and it hammered cwmcarn uplift a couple of weeks ago so yes it can handle the ruff stuff ;)
