nice quality steed mate got a 2011 five in my local bike shop in this colour - its awsome everyone who comes in looks at it would look good with a few bits of gold check mine out
Green and red doesn't really go........ but I can't really mark down one of the best bikes available today for that now can I! Quick question though, just how long is your seat post? It could double up as an oil rig leg!
loving the colour and all this about lower the seat stem to long whos rideing the thing looks great mate even with the pink rotars its different rate my bikes cheers
I kind of agree with some of the comments.. like the red brakes might look a bit odd with the apple green.. might get away with it if u change the seat clamp and the headset to red aswell.. think the guy that wants the seat lowerin should try riding 30 miles with his knees tw#ttin his chin.. does a look a wee bit like the frame might be too small for u tho.. bitchin aside, it's an Orange 5 Pro in Apple Green, and it's out playin in the woods.. Bliss!
Sweeeeeet Bike Chief Worm!! I've been eyeing your bike up on MY ORANGE for months. Hope you don't live any where near Northampton as its my intention to copy yours!! I've already got all the red bits on my stumpy, just waiting for the five frame.
Ref the post, is the frame an 18", i'm 6'2" and am wondering which size to get, have demo'd an 18 and it felt good, but just wondered how you'd got on as you must be a similar height??
Thanks I am really chuffed you want to copy my ride!! I have just changed the saddle for a brown ti spoon and it looks great.
I live near Birmingham so if you ride at Cannock at all you might see me! I am 6'2" and my frame is an 18" and it is spot on. I like to be able to chuck the bike around a bit and the 20" didn't feel as right. Send me pics of your 5 when its done.
Cheers.
Great 5 bud, lovin the colour and i think the rotors go really well. I'm a massive Orange fan. Own a 2004 5 myself and just recently bought my missus a Patriot.Rate my bike please dude.
In the flesh this bike really is stunning, including the red rotors!! I know i've seen it! Besides black on bikes looks cheap and is soooooooooo boring!!
I'D AV GIVEN 10 BUT FOR THE COLOURS..THEY JUST DON'T GO.BUT THATS ONLY MY TASTE....JUST BOUGHT ONE OF THESE SO I KNOW HOW WELL THEY RIDE AND WHAT A GREAT BIKE THEY ARE....WHATS ITS WEIGHT?..........
I think the red looks wicked but your right everyone has different taste. The weight is much lighter than standard but I don't know what it is! The bike shop seemed impressed though!
Surely U don't have to ride XC to appreciate a class British Built bike! If it was a 224 would it get a 10? It'll quite happily handle a day at the freeride park at Glentress.. Granted, the saddle would probably do some major damage, waaay up there, but still..a 5??
The rotors do look a bit daft, I'll give u that one!
it looks like it is surprisingly light for an orange, nice colour too, although some of the parts are a bit shit looking like the pink crank bros pedals.

Chief Worm replied... on 31 August 2009
It weighs 27.8lbs could go lighter with different wheels etc but I am a big bloke and ride hard so need it fairly chunky!
