Sup, looks like ya bikes taking a slaggin! Well i had one of these about 8yrs ago, n let me tell you, the gears will go in no time! when they do, swap em out for single speed, the forks need to be chucked too, they weigh a tonne! get a cheap set of zocki's or summit on scum bay, they wheels are pretty chocolate too, but ride em till they go, when i finished with mine all that was left from original was the frame, which again was bloody heavy, but for me this bike was a good starting point as it should be to you, you'rs still looks to be pretty stock, which leaves you loads of room for improvements, so just take ya time and fish through the many sites untill ya find some bits you like, another option for the forks is what i did, slap a set of rigid's in there, and speaking of which theres a company called 'winstanleys' and they happen to have some sweet AtomLab forks for a fair price at the mo, so worth having a look. Mine also got sprayed, which breathes a whole new life into, its a chunky frame so be bold stick some bright colours on it. These bikes have some good potential, but as standard they just cant really cut it. So best of luck with it all, and sorry to see ya got a slating on here. 3/10 for a pretty standard bike.
Hell i can't really slag this off, my first bike was a salvage job from a skip! Just couldnt let it be thrown away! lol do what I did keep an eye open for bargains. Now we've got ebay it's so much easier to, i found a decent frame and some(admitedly ropey) forks for £20 a while back!!

Not the best bike we've ever seen but still, it can be improved upon. Fair play for actually taking an interest.
mattyzm: You need to shut the fuck up. No-one really cares about your opinion. Not everyone can afford an expensive bike like your Santa Cruz. At least he's made a start.
Don't start that argument. You've just proven that you know nothing about bikes unless they're expensive.
A full set of new Magura HS33 rim brakes will cost you £180. I paid £15 for them.
My Bottom Bracket and Crankset are worth £100 between them. I paid £40.
I KNOW that you don't have to spend a lot of money to get a good bike because I HAVE a good bike.
Not the best by far but it does the job and it gets me around. You're clearly a spoilt little brat that thinks he can ride because he has an expensive bike.
In all honesty that's really not such a bad little ride. I'm assuming that you are a beginner to the sport- so props to you for getting in to it!
The most important thing to upgrade will be the front forks, go for some cheapy rockshox or marzocchi's- the frame is pretty much okay until you start getting really serious about it. Personally I'd stick with V-brakes as in all honesty they work as well if not better than cheap disc brakes. It's a cheap bike so ride it into the ground dude!
Anyways- it looks far too clean, get riding man!
Have an 8 out of 10! If you fancy rating mine then please feel free!

Needs a lot of work doing to it to make it into a good bike. and I think it would be a waste of money, My advise ride it enjoy it till it breaks and just save all the money that you would spend on parts and put it towards a decent mid range bike. then upgrade from there. sorry but anybody rating this a 10 is stupid and just looking for a return 10.

what are you on earpw? its not worth a 1/10. its not great and the forks dont look brilliant but its probably a solid little frame which can be built upon.
seriously now, all your comments are not really needed are they? what are you trying to achieve? any new users on the site see this rubbish and they will not want to put thier bikes up and stuff. it makes MD look crap. yes his bike isnt great and i dont know if there has been any sort of disagreement between yourself and tallzie but reading all this i feel quite sorry for tallzie. fair enough if you dont like the bike and you should by all means say so but all this is a bit extreme dont you think? you've commented on nearly everything!
