HI like the bike, should have kept the stickers on or got some replacements.not sure why its being slagged off these are great bikes i have one myself and it has never let me down yet will be posting pic soon.
yer mate nothing wrong with a bit of retro mountain bike's get some original frame grafix maid just seen a 1999 mod on ebay only asking ?275 for it its box standed but hey if some one wants a bit of mountain bike history yer dude you love it thats all that matters peace
nice bike. i have the same one and it needs some serious work! i was debating selling it but if i could turn it into something like that i might consider hanging on to it. the shocks are shot and the gears/derailleurs/drivetrain needs replaced as well. while im at it i might as well replace the wheel and brakes......everything must go! Any help you could provide would be great. where do i start? how do i know what fits?, etc. email me at [email protected] thx!!
Remember when these first came out, these are where the current crop of specialized Full suspension bikes came from, without them (and the original FSR that came first in 94) Specailized wouldn't be the bikes they are now. Love what you've done with it.
Got the same bike myself and am also upgrading it! pics here http://www.moredirt.com/ratebike.php?id=1921 (have taken off the old stickers since that pic and added black specialized outline decals)
Aweomse bike dude! I dunno why everyone is being so harsh on it. If 2000 is old then half the people on here must be kids (annoying kids at that!). How do those wheels perform btw?
Hi mate, thanks for the comments, this is the second picture as I've recently fitted the new shock and brakes. The wheels have been good for what I do (XC). not sure I'd want to hit any serious downhill with them but they've held up okay for the last twelve months and still run true. They'll get upgraded once I've found a replacement rear shock.
The rockhopper FSR was produced in 2000/2001. came with manitou magnum front fork and fox vanilla rear shock.
She's old and heavy but by the same token completely bombproof!
fenders are winter mud plugging trim although with this summer they turned up on the bike in June!! Currently on the hunt for the right front fork and shock combo to replace the ageing parts currently on there.
Yr2000 model, now sporting rockshox TORA 318's, rhino bars, modified rear swinger for discs, hayes hfx9's with 203mm rotors front and rear. She's not a £10,000 uber light weight carbon fibre STORK but she's bombproof and keeps me fit on the uphill bits!!

Not amused with the false advertising but for a cheap no-name frame it looks not too bad.
