the twrch trail is ok, you can cut down the climb up by ignoring the start of trail and going up the road (following the uplift's route) and rejoining the twrch at the freeride section near the top, then you can use a few of the faster sections on the twrch to link onto the mojo DH track where the fun really starts. if you want more than one run i suggest using the uplift as the route up is very winding and indirect and takes a long time to go up compared to how fast you come back down. whites level trail in afan, port talbot is a good trail you might want to check out too, its a killer climb, but its got a longer descent overall than the the twrch trail.

i did brechfa recently, am thinking of visitng south wales again and cwmcarn on the list, recently drove past and looked up that hill from the visitor centre, looks like a nice climb which can only mean a nice descent!?
