Cant see how your tyre's would be rubbing dude!?
CitizenLee replied... on 30 October 2009
It was the old Intense tyres that rubbed... they were like 3.0 with massively deep tread. Looked like a moto tyre. No issues with the Maxxis, other than their weight. Bikes gone now anyway ;-)

whiteknight said on 18 March 2008
looks real nice esp as its a 05 frame! Tho i gotta ask, why chose dif colour hubs, and why put expensive hubs on cheap rims? Also are u say ur runnin saint 203 with xt levers, but they look like xt rotors cus u can only run saint rotors on a saint hub or halo spindoctor with conversion kit, soooo that would only mean xt callipers! Am i right?
CitizenLee replied... on 19 March 2008
Looks like I didnt include the rotors in the description but I'll do it if I ever update the pic. As for the hubs, when I bought the bike it was runnin 24s with the blue ProII up front and a Stout rear. The Stout was trashed so I got the red ProII cheap of a mate so I could get the bike up and running. I didnt like the different colours at 1st but I must admit it's grown on me. With the rims I wanted it back on 26s but was low on cash after buying the bike so again, I just went with something cheap to get it riding. I've been meaning to get new rims but I havet had chance to ride much lately so I've been putting it off. A new seat is on the cards too + I've got a new pivot bearings and bolt kit to fit.
whiteknight replied... on 18 March 2008
opps! I ment saint calipers! So everything is xt part from calipers in break set up?

Never been a fan of the Demo's look myself but I know how the the stuff works, and the sales numbers seem to add up to one thing..... A lot of people who say they crack and blah, blah, blah. Well they dont know cr*p!!!
As for Pedal's. Go and get some syncros Mental Stainless, you wont get more grip. That's what's on my Tomac 204.
diamondratuk replied... on 1 February 2008
50/50's are a bit flat.... :(
diamondratuk replied... on 1 February 2008
And if one got sent back with a crack in it, chances are it was a bad heat-treat and then that's a manufacturing issue. Or the said rider tried to huck it or ride of a cliff and kept quite about it. I've never seen one break.

When I 1st saw Demo I didnt like them but they totally grew on me. They ride soooo nice as well. They might be a bit on the heavy side but as a result they track so well and feel totally planted on the ground.
I got some new tyres today... a 2.5 Minion Front and a 2.5 High Roller for the back. Should make it a bit less lethal!

eddiethedirtjumper182 replied... on 25 January 2008
i would edfinetly try puttin the terror pins in them as those pedals look immense on your bike
CitizenLee replied... on 23 January 2008
Cheers for the comment dude ;)
I dont like the 50/50s as I dont find they offer enough grip due to the fact they're not at all concave. I might try putting some DMR Terror Pins in them to see if that improves things. If not I'll try another type of pedal.
Dont listen to me though, you'll find more people like them than you will people who dont.
eddiethedirtjumper182 replied... on 23 January 2008

i like demo 8's a lot. I am sure now you have fixed the bearing play problem it will ride good. Just a bit over kill for the local trails to Aberdeen. Shame Pitfichie is closed till march, only place ya could really see how the bike works.
Good to see ya actually have sorta ridden it. How are ya getting on in the world of full bouncy bouncy land?

I meant to click on 8 by the way, as i do like demo 8's. DOH! I have considered getting one before but i don't need a downhill rig, i can do everything i want on my hardtail and me old full suss. Just can't justify a DH rig like. Yeah man there are some good trails about like dotted all over Scotland. But yeah whatever man, enjoy ya ride.

Ya know seeing one in 2 years, must be really unreliable haha where do some folk get there info from like. Oh and i also work for the same place just to note so yeah no real issues with Demo 8's to report.

Haha, they are (courtesy of your goodself) but time to get them tensioned as the knobbles on my rear tyre rub the bottom of the e.13 slightly. It's no biggie but I'll bring it into the shop for you to do it soon. Gemma's bike needs her wheels tensioned and gears tightened too, so I'll bring em both in. May as well pay you to do it since I'm so lazy. Cheers min.
