The Alaro Castillo Mountain Bike Trail is located on the isle of Mallorca. The trail offers some of the best MTB action on the island with 25km of trail.
Leave Alaro on the Bunyola orient road following signs for Castillo(castle).
The road to the castle is very rough and a hard ride to the top rising 550m(1805ft) in 6 km(3.7m). On the way to the top you will pass through a restaurant "Es Verger" which is famous for its lamb.
When you reach the top there is a parking area and steps to the right leading up to the castle. Cross the parking area diagonally to the right and you will find a track leading down the other side. This track is very difficult and you may not be able to ride it all, but it flattens out a bit half way down.
Follow the track down hill until you come to gate onto the road. turn left here and follow the road towards orient. After 1.5 kms there is a gate on your left(as a guide you should be able to see a watertank/pond on the other side of the road)this gate is usually locked don't worry climb over it this is normal in Mallorca!
Follow the trail uphill to you come to another gate, climb over and head uphill to the right. Keep heading uphill until you come to a gap in the cliff this is Pas de Estalo.
Now the fun really begins follow the trail downhill through the woods this is a fast flowing descent. After a little while you will be following a trail with a gorge below to your right it gets more technical as you go down with steps, loose and slick rocks, If you've got the balls most of it is ride able.
Continue downhill through 2 gates until you reach the road.
Follow the road and take the first left which will lead you back to the town of Alaro.
