The Hardrock Trail is a classic red-graded route that includes miles of singletrack and some incredibly challenging black-graded features such as "the Slab."
The hard granite surface makes the trail one of the most resilient in the country and provides good grip in the wet, so the route is fantastic to ride all year round. Attack it in cross country racer style or at a more leisurely, playful pace.
A highlight of the route is the Slab - sheer granite lying at a steep angle - but there are plenty of other sections on the Hardrock Trail to excite and test the skills of any mountain biker.
Nearly 27km in length, the Hardrock Trail will have you begging for more. It is mainly a route for intermediates upwards but all the difficult sections have easy option routes so everyone can give it a go.
There are too many more features to describe so we are going to leave it to you to simply ride and enjoy but you'll want to know about this bit. On the way back to the car park you'll find a 300 yard rockfest treat called Volunteer Ridge, which, as the name suggests, was created by volunteers. This is also a black graded section which will test your nerve and balancing skills.
That's the Hardrock trail - it's a rock 'n' roll treat.
