Some steep climbs and even a carry, but worth the effort to get up to Ayton Moor. There are some good fairly natural downhill trails and a variety of terrain to test your skills and fitness. Good xafe on site plus Fletchers Farm near Great Ayton to keep you sustained

Easy trail for a Black route
Review:
Now a lot better thanks to singletraction and the work they have done, yet this was considered a black trail 10 years ago, so is fairly easy and most probably lucky to be a red by today's standards. Where the forestry commision have felled at the end is a pain though, as on my last visit i am ashamed and annoyed that i couldnt find the final descent!

Review:
Quite a challenging route even by black standards, though i have to say that there are features that are quite dangerous, i.e. the trees that have been cleared on either side of the trail have been cut down leaving 6-8" of stump that can't be seen in the long grass and catch your pedals with regularity, some of these stumps are only 2-3" in diameter and are quite sharp, it's a bike trail not an indiana jones audition! apart from that it is an entertaining ride and needs some fitness.

Grrrr! waste of time
Review:
Took the Tandem to ride this today, stopped at the visitor centre to check out the setup, it turns out both trails are currently closed in areas, there are no waymarked diversions, no maps and no mention of this on the website. I feel cheated, besides which the Blue trail appears to simply be a fireroad based trail which for a novice is very hard climbing and for anyone more experienced a bit dull. Perhaps we`ll get a Red trail in the future?
