Summary:
Not really suitable for bikes
Review:
Agreed with the previous review; the trails in the forests are not really suitable for bikes.
2 other decent trails start at the same place though. The track to the old mines is quite easy. A gentle uphill gradient over a loose surface. The other trail towards Kilmacolm High Dam is quite rocky, and in periods of wet weather can flood in places. A few streams to be crossed and rolling terrain but most people should be fit enough to manage this. There's a locked gate with stile near the ranger centre, and a few unlocked gates on the track near Kilmacolm High Dam at the end.
For the fitter rider, there is a track starting near Muirfauldhouse farm which climbs Misty Law. Almost 300m of climbing I think.

Summary:
Trail not for bikers, but there's another trail nearby.
Review:
This trail is mainly for walkers (lot's of families, special needs children etc.), the park rangers do not appreciate bikers going on this trail. There are 2 other trails to the west of the park. There's the trail towards the old mine, which is slightly boring. But there's also a trail towards the old grouse hunting grounds, this trail is much better and is around 11 Km there and back to the park. Surface is mainly loose rocks...fairly rough at times. You can also turn right at a T-junction and head towards the road to Quariers.
