Rode this today with my 9 year old son. An easy trail, with little uphill, which might suit people not used to hills or just getting started in mountain biking. Apart from the berm section, the descents are non existent. It could be fun if you were riding it fast. I rode it slowly today as was with my son.
All the more interesting riding is during the first part, with some minor roller coasters etc. The second half is mostly flat or uphil fire road. I almost feel it should have been planned in reverse. However, they are supposed to be extending it, so we will be back to try it again then.
If you want more fun and a lot more descent, the Llandegla blue is far, far better!

We did this loop at the weekend with kids aged 7-10. Loop 1 of this trail is a nice easy ride - no real climbs on the way out & only a short one on the way back, which they coped with fine. The Slipway berms are really what this trail is about, and for us, they got the balance right between giving adult riders a 'skills type' area, where you can practice lines, small drop-offs/jumps etc, but being controlled enough for kids to ride safely whilst getting a sense of excitement. It's smooth, wide, and relatively gently sloping, so experienced riders won't get a lot from it, but then that's not what a blue run is about.
Loop 2 didn't have as much to entertain, but from what I read, the trail's not yet finished, so hopefully when a 3rd loop is added it will give the whole thing a more rounded feel.

Ultimately, if you want to take your kids on an introductory track, that doesn't require a lung-busting climb to start it, and have a bit of a laugh yourself in the bargain, it's well worth a go.

It's also worth mentioning that the weather was truly awful in North Wales at the weekend, but this trail drained really well, so you could still go a fair pelt round the berms without carnage all round!
