If you are in London it is definitely worth checking out. You do have to pay 2 pounds to get on the trails however this is easily bypassed and there are great facilities there as it is part of the velodrome and the Olympic park. There is a large variety of trail difficulty, with extremely easy blues to very daunting Black's. Surprisingly there is plenty of elevation with some relatively steep descents. They are rental bikes available which are very good quality (disk brake, smooth gears, etc.) I wouldn't definitely recommend trying it for all ages and skill levels.
