Was here on Saturday in beautiful weather and loved it! Initial ascent requires a push as it's very steep and loose, but doubles up as a great descent too! After that the trail is all interesting, fun, fabulous views, and as the other guy mentioned, the Devil's Staircase is an absolute blast! I did the downhill too but without gear so took it v easy!

Review:
Used to ride here when it was all just heather. Now the Forestry have transformed it into a truly fantastic trail. Here's how we do it:
From the carpark ride up past the stone circle and up the fire trail until you make a sharp left up the singletrack taking you over Green Hill.Enjoy the rocky descent then turn right up to the terrific bouldered ascent up Cairn William.
The reason you've slogged this far is now apparent - the Devil's Staircase is one of the most fun descents anywhwere. At the bottom turn right onto the trail. Now either: Plunge down the straight 40mph section(fun) or turn left and climb up to the Downhill Course, descend and rejoin the fire trail. Now loop round, turn right and slog up the fire trail to ride/hike back over Green Hill from the opposite way and descend(mostly) all the way back to the car park.
Pop into the Hotel at Monymusk for a beer.
