Summary:
The cut is a walkway not a mountain bike trail
Review:
The cut is not a mountain bike trail. Its a walkway that runs round hill above greenock. There is a bunch of actual trails that run off the cut to old i.b.m and a bunch running from the tops of the hills down to the cut and down to overton road that leads to loch thom. You can find them on strava if you search segments by map in the area.

Greenock Cut : easy Kelly Cut : not so easy
Review:
Ride from Overton around the single track to Cornalees then ride the Kelly cut to Wemyss Bay.
The first bit is nice and easy with fantastic views. The Kelly Cut is a bit more difficult with the trail becoming very muddy in autumn/winter unless it's frozen then the ruts are rock hard and fun to negotiate. At some points the trail disappears altogether. Once in Wemyss Bay the cafe opposite the station is excellent. You can then do it in reverse with a steep climb to start with or get the train back to Drumfrochar. A nice wee ride close to Glasgow

Nice and easy
Review:
An easy trail with some great views. This isn't a trail that can be taken quickly because of families out walking, and can be busy on weekends and holidays.
This trail can be extended with a couple of cross-country descents. If you continue on the road past the masts towards one of the reservoirs, a muddy track runs down to the Cut near the 'hole of spango'. Going the opposite direction towards Overton, turn left before the gate at the reservoir. A faint track runs down through the grass and joins the cut.
Another route in the area is the Kelly Cut, which starts at Cornalees as well and heads towards Wemyss Bay.
