Good variety of trails.......but very muddy in places!

I spent a good couple of hours here and I found some great trails. I'll definitely be returning to explore the area more.
Unfortunately, my ride was marred by the Forestry work that'd been carried out earlier that week. The machines had churned up the ground and some of the trails were just too carved up and muddy, especially the climb up from near the viewpoint car park.
The ground's very soft in places and there's lots of mud around, even after long dry spells so I probably won't be going there after it's been raining but I'll certainly be back over Summer to make the most of it.
Some of the trails are very technical and provide a good test of skills, with plenty of roots and rocks to keep you focused. The best trail I found was a Bridleway that spurred off north from one of the fire roads, it's a great section of downhill singletrack.
I look forward to exploring more around here!

very good but always muddy

best trail in the preston area. it is very big.BUT you always have to look for hidden paths specially made for bikes. 2 minutes up the forest road you can find one to your right. if you want to explore the full forest it will take you 1 day (+driving-riding there) or maybe more if you want to go on the same trail twice like i did.
not very difficult, gives you the choice of making jumps or going around them , but really fun to ride for both rookies and more experienced riders

Good For locals
Review:
Good fireroad climb to start to get the lungs working!
Technical rocky climb to get to the very top which is great practice
The view at the top of the fell is amazing, check out my panorama shot!
Unfortunately the true English summer (i.e constant rain) has left a majority of the DH trails virtually unrideable (for me anyway). Otherwise this is a great little spot.
I think it may be more fun in winter when it stops raining and the ground get tougher!
