Summary:
Great, bit of a killer on the uphill though
Review:
This trail has loads of uphill that seem to go on forever - real leg burners. But the downhill is fantastic, long flowing sections, rocky and steep in places (i came off twice due to indecision on some rocky bits!!!) Treat with respect and it will reward you!!

Impressive length but give us more width!

The Dragons Back route starts on the Badger section which is shared by almost all the CyB routes. The trickiest bit of this section is picking your way round the occasional bikers who tend to stall on the rock steps usually as you are behind them trying to get up momentum to get up the same feature. Once past this section though things quieten down. Dreamtime is a nice flowy bit of single track. Next up is Big Dug which has the potential to flow nicely but is just a bit too narrow for you to cut loose. Another foot dug into the bank would make a lot of difference as you have a drop to your right and in wet conditions you have to err on the side of caution.
Herman is a nice flowing section there then follows a pointless 5km or more trek before getting to Gomez, Morticia etc. These sections are excellent, the best at CyB by a long way I think. After that it is the familiar round of Pink Heifer and the Beginning of the End sections (familiar if you have done the MBR anyway) which are good but not stand out.
All in all, the route is good but overly long for the amount of downhill. The 5k or so after Herman is a lot of peddling to no real point as it is entirely on forest track or road and goes nowhere. Maybe there is a magnificent view somewhere but in the welsh mist I was in it was impossible to tell. Big Dug is decent but it could be much better if they gave you a bit more room which was a criticism I had of one or two of the sections. Don?t miss Gomes, Morticia or any of the Adams Family sections if you can help it they really are the best at CyB. If I was to do it again I would just head for these sections.

Nice long fire rd fun
Review:
Not sure if my review is fair on the place as there were lots of diversion signs and im am really hoping that every last good section was diverted as, out of the 38km about 3 or 4km where good the rest just seemed to be a few rocks and and fire roads had about a teck factor of 4 at the most very distapointed on the technical level but as a hole ride was a good day out just not chanllenging more of a nice fire road ride.

I was brought up in north wales, but was never into my biking, but went down last week and gave it a go! Brilliant! I only have a budget bike hardtail at the minute but still it was gooood! Far more technical then i'd ever tried before, and energy sapping but worth the ride! I even entered into the Garmin challange that was running....not supprisingly, i didn't win!!!
