If these "experts" really wanted to ride hardcore stuff, they wouldn't have come here. A quick view on YouTube shows anyone that this isn't ball-breaking stuff. Some people just want to big themselves up and sound like some kind of expert. I think they're good fun trails. The uphill at the start is doable - good keep fit stuff and the downhill is OK for people of moderate ability. Nothing too technical, but you have to keep your wits about you and you can vary your speed to match your ability or lack of it. If you're not that confident, I'd suggest you come midweek, it almost feels like you have the place to yourself at times and you can take your time and get a feel for it. Once your confidence gets a bit better, there's always the Black...

I love this trail centre, great place, great shop, great cafe, great trails, great skills area, reasonable parking charges. I think it's the best in the country.
Stop in the skills area first to get your eye in, then follow the climb, it's a long climb but it's as interesting as a climb of this kind can be.
The trails are just so good, when you do have to go back up again it is lung busting and if you are like me you will be swearing at another fire road to get up but it's shorter than you think and you do get rewarded with some superb down sections.
The trail builders have done a fantastic job.
This trail centre is privately owned so it's really good to see that a viable business can be run for the benefit of mountain biking. Mega props to everyone involved.

Ignor the haters, The Red and Black Routes are great...

...so they moan about going uphill. It's a trail center not a DH track. You go up to come back down that's how it works. I personally find the trails very good, I usually stick to the Red or Black. In my opinion they are both great. There are new sections which yes...include uphill and downhill sections, I love what they've done with both trails. If you don't like trail riding don't go to a trail center. if you do, you wont be dissappointed.
