Hard as nails, rocky

I must be masacist as I actually enjoy this gnarly hard trail....the rocks have been polished and the minute they are wet they are like ice....but I still like it.

bbbbbboring for 90% of the track.

To much climbing not enough reward did this after the mbr and was very disappointed. The climbs were all endless fire roads. Most of the single track didn't make up for it the teeth section and I think the single track section before this were the best bits

Old school!

Great ride. You get to see some interesting places and it has a much more relaxed feel. The fireroad climbs are a little long but take it easy and enjoy the views.
Not as well sign posted as other trails but follow your nose and it works itself out.
Some nice singletrack and worth doing if only to experience how trails have developed since the early days!

Cant agree more with all of the comments. Lots of fire road with no where near enough reward. Coed y brenin gets a lot of hype as it supposedly has 6 trails available but I've done Tarw, MBR and the Dragons back and between those 3 i think I've covered pretty much all of the 6 trails there as they all seem to follow one another more often than not and the quality just doen't match the expectation. We also rode Afan Forest W2 trail and Penmachno loop one in the same weekend and these 2 trails were both of a complete different standard. I've done coed y brinin and wont be going back. On a plus note though the guys in the bike shop are legendary and can fix anything.

poor, down hill fireroad whats this about?

Really looked forward to riding this after all the epic reviews mags gave it. sadly was left so disapointed all climbs fireroad and when you get to the top of them looking forward to a great singletrack descent only to lose loads of height on down hill fireroads, thought we must have missed the turns but have been told by other people they found the same thing. never rode the old redbull run but people tell me the new trail has lost its zing.
